Does the type of media cause people to be aware of child hunger? The Examination of a sample of 30 students revealed that after watching a commercial about child hunger more student tended to put child hunger as the number 1 issue around the world.
The subject was 30 randomly selected students that then where randomly assigned into two different groups of 15. Group A was the news report about child hunger and group B a commercial about child hunger. Both groups. They watched the video and then got a survey where they rated 4 different issues around the world child hunger being one of those four. The data is showed below:
News Report: 1, 4, 2, 2, 3, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 1, 2, 3, 1, 3,
Commercial: 2, 1, 1, 4, 1, 3, 1, 1, 1, 4, 2, 3, 2, 1, 1,

State:
μ1: Mean ranking of news report
μ2: Mean ranking of commercial
Ho: μ1=μ2
Ha: μ1<μ2
I will perform a 2-sample t-test at alpha level of 0.05.
Do:
Random; A random sample of 30 students was taken. The 30 students where randomly assigned into group A the news report room or group B the commercial room.
Normal; The population is normal because their was no outliers or any skewness.
Independent; n1: 15(10)= 150 is less than 10% of the population.
n2: 15(10)= 150 is also less than 10% of the population, so this condition is met.
Do:
t=0.354345
Pval=0.637083
df=26.9962
x̄1=2
x̄2=1.8667
sx1=0.92582
sx2=1.12546
n1=15
n2=15
Conclude:
Since the p-value is greater than alpha (0.637083>0.05)
we fail to reject the the Ha about students after watching
the news report will rate child hunger as the number 1 issue.
Reflection:
I feel that the students tend to put child hunger as a most important issue do to the fact
that i showed them only one video just about child hunger felt that they need to put it
as a more important issue. Next time I plan to show them videos of all the other different
issues as well instead of just showing one.
